TPU Evolution® yarns

Logogrilon

  1. TPU Evolution® yarns
  2. Coated Yarns industrial
  3. Evolution® HIGH GRIP YARN

TPU Evolution® is made of a polyester or polyamide core yarn with a coating of colored TPU, available in many counts.

The versatility of polyurethane allows our TPU Evolution® yarn to be used for numerous applications both in the textile world and in a wide range of industrial sectors.

TPU Evolution® is the best solution for the creation of bags, shoes, tapes, suitcases, technical fabrics and fabrics for personal protection, outerwear, knitwear, indoor and outdoor furniture and unique accessories of superior quality.

Our TPU yarns CAN be knitted on circular knitting machine ( Colosio, Santoni, Lonati…) or flat bed knitting machine from 7 to 18gg.

Our TPU yarns can also be woven.

Depending on the type of finishing, one single product allows for different effects on the fabric.

Fabrics created with TPU Evolution® yarn have an incredible peach hand feel, softness, lightness, rubber effect and elasticity. By increasing the application temperature, it is possible to obtain a rubber or lamination effect. TPU gives excellent resistance to abrasion, impact, germs, chemical agents, oils and fats and hydrolysis.

TPU Evolution® yarn has also anti-microbial properties, UV stability and extraordinary color solidity. All of this gives our product incredibile performances.

TPU Evolution® is a 100 % made in Italy polyurethane yarn.

TPU Evolution® is produced in over 30 colors.

TPU Evolution® is solvent free, water free and has a zero waste production process, in conformity with Coat yarn green policy.

We also propose coated yarns for industrial application in Composite materials, automotive, infrastructure and building, nautical, aerospace, production of nets and ropes, carpets and tufting industry, filtration..

We propose Glass/Eva binding yarns and Glass/CoPA binding yarns for the composite industry

Thanks to the high level of adhesion and fluidity of the polymers, they can be used to block and stabilize fabrics UD fabrics in composite industry.

We developed Pes/COPES coated yarns for reinforcing technical fabrics.

An automotive sector, such as cable harness for industrial vehicles, requires the use of protective sheaths that can resist heat, frost, abrasion and fuels.

In that case, a braiding made with a PVC, TPU or PVDF coated yarn provides the best performance on the market.

Our research also brought us to use super-polymers, such as PEEK. A material that can withstand temperatures over 300 °C, with incredibly high mechanical properties and formidable resistance to external agents.

A Coated Yarn Iwith a PEEK coating find applications in the automotive and aerospace sectors, or anywhere there is a need for composite materials.

High performance coated yarn
Braided harnesses by COATYARN
Coated yarn for braiding

Evolution® High Grip yarn is our innovative yarn designed for all applications where a surface grip is required, whether it is internally on the skin or externally on other fabrics.

The applications are countless, such as:

  • Socks (sports, technical, medical, anti-slip)
  • Invisible socks
  • Hold-ups
  • Gloves (leisure, sports, safety)
  • Underwear, cycling, medical tapes
  • Medical and orthopedic sector
  • Shoes
  • Technical clothing
  • Carpets

The main advantage of this product is the removal of the need to use rubber, PVC or silicone applications. This removes production steps, resulting in a reduction in processing costs, as well as the elimination of harmful materials.

The effect is available immediately after use. Furthermore, a simple wash at low temperature will enhance the grip even further.

In addition, Evolution® High Grip yarn offers additional benefits such as:

  • Silicone, solvent and oil-free
  • Monomaterial (polyester based) and 100% recyclable
  • High grip performance, guaranteed over time
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Unique touch and softness
  • Resistance to oils, greases and solvents
  • Thermoformability and ease of processing
  • High solidity and vividness of colors

The Evolution® High Grip yarn is supplied ready for use, suitable for any textile processing such as:

  • Circular knitting machines for socks, large diameters and seamless
  • flat bed knitting machines
  • Looms for and jacquard fabrics

The available counts are 450 dtex and 1150 dtex, or higher upon request.

The Evolution® High Grip yarn is produced according to a zero-waste logic

Phenoxy yarns & veil

Logogrilon

Phenoxy Yarn MS (Matrix soluble yarns)

Spun from a Phenoxy resin, MS yarn has been specially developed by EMS-GRILTECH for use in the composite industry.

GRILON© MS yarn is available in 2 counts: MS 150 Decitex / MS 300 Decitex.

GRILON® MS Phenoxy yarn, due to its thermoplastic properties, can be used as binding or bonding yarn to stabilize dry reinforcing structures such as unidirectional fabrics (UD) and non crimp fabric (NCF).

Our Thermoplastic matrix soluble yarn can also be used as a stitch thread for tailored fiber placement (TFP) and for preform assembly.

GRILON® MS yarn, having very similar chemical structure to epoxy resin, will dissolve completely into the epoxy resin during the injection and curing process. The result is an homogeneous CFRP component (only fibre + resin) with no foreign materials and improved mechanical properties.

Our Matrix soluble thread has therefore positive effects in the process chain and also on mecanical properties of the final composite.

Phenoxy Nonwoven MS (Matrix soluble)

GRILON® MS nonwoven is based on the same technology and raw material as our JEC innovation Award winning Grilon MS Matrix Soluble yarn.

GRILON® MS veil is available in 3 different thickness: 08g / 12g / 20g per M²

GRILON® MS nonwoven is a light veil made from Phenoxy resin.

GRILON® MS nonwoven can be used as a binder veil to bond and stabilise carbon fiber preforms. After dissolving in the Epoxy resin it improves the impact toughness of the matrix.

GRILON® MS nonwoven veil can be integrated in Non Crimp Fabrics (NCF), or simply used as interlayers in a carbon fiber fabric stack. The stack can be consolidated into a preform by hotpressing at 100 -140°C. During curing of an infused epoxy resin the Grilon MS nonwoven is dissolved to form a toughened matrix.

Since the toughener has its highest concentration inbetween the reinforcing fiber layers, delamination after impact is considerably reduced. If desired crosslinking with the epoxy matrix is possible with various hardeners.

The benefits and avantages of GRILON® MS yarns and veil are the following:

The raw material Phenoxy resin is proven in composites and for aerospace applications.

MS Nowoven offers good drapability.

Stabilisation of dry reinforcing fiber performs by thermobonding / hotpressing.

Dissolves in resin during curing.

Promotes reinforcing fiber adhesion.

Improves the mechanical properties of composite parts.

Local toughening where needed most.

non toxic.

Swiss quality, EMS-GRILTECH is certified according to ISO 9001:2000

Bicomponent Yarns

Logogrilon

Bico yarns of which each filament consists of a core with normal melting point covered by a bonding sheat with a low melting point.

Core could be PA or PES.

Sheat could be low melting points, bonding and adhesive CoPES and CoPA.

Bico yarn type offers excellent processing properties and improves the strength and durability of any textile structure.

Applications are similar to combi fusible bonding yarns in the textile industry.

Bicomponent Bonding Yarns could also be used for many technical textile applications.

Bico Bonding Yarns can also be introduced in high performance fiber reinforced composite.

GRILON® Bicomponent yarns are available only upon request in various counts and melting temperature ranges.

Our GRILON® bicoponent yarns are Oeko-Tex certificated standard 100, product class I.

Our GRILON® bicoponent yarns are have REACH Approval.
